PLEASE make sure your home is puppy proof before your puppy is brought home. The best way to do this is to crawl around on your hands and feet at their level. Provide lots of safe things to chew on.

When the puppy is biting, place a toy or stuffed animal in the mouth. This will teach the proper things to bite and chew on. You can also grab the puppy's mouth and hold firm with a firm no. Puppy will react by whining - do not give in to this! Hold until the puppy submits. Another way is to simply tap the puppy's nose and say no.
Which ever way you choose, be consistant. Puppies do not learn the first time around. It takes many times and consistancy.
