Limited or Full registration
Some people feel that when they pay for a dog, they should be able to do what they want with the dog.
Some people give full registration to just anyone
When you purchase a "pet" from me, you are getting just that - a pet. Not a business, not a puppy maker, not a breeder. I feel there are enough careless breeders already out there. I feel there are already enough unwanted puppies and adult dogs in the shelters. I will not encourage back yard breeders in any way. I do not want any of my babies becoming money maker.
On occasions I do give out breeding rights. IF I feel someone really knows the breed and is passionate about the breed, knows and understands all that goes a long with raising puppies and finding good homes, I will consider giving full breeding rights. If I feel that person will also respect the responsibility of having Full breeding rights, I will consider it.
ALL puppy sale will come with LIMITED registration.
IF FULL registration is given, it will be for an additional charge
Many people come to me and ask about health problems.
I really hope this helps people understand health issues in dogs.
Any dog can end up with health problems. No testing can prevent or predict all health problems ! !
Sometimes, things just happen for reasons unknown. As a breeder, we can test and research bloodlines and HOPE to produce healthy puppies. We can not guarentee a dog or puppy to be healthy. We hope that they are and do our best to makes sure the dogs we breed are as healthy as they can be to the best of our knowledge and the knowledge of our vets.
We can research our bloodlines for dogs in the past that have been diagnosed with health issues, but we only know of the cases that are reported - if any.
Then why do we offer a health guarentee? Breeders who offer a health guarentees should mean and usually does mean that they have done the best they humanly possibly can to produce a healthy puppy. Verses someone who really doesn't know or doesn't care. Who hasn't done the research and doesn't know the history of the dogs they have.
Anyone who does NOT offer atleast a two year health contract is not backing up what they produce. OFA or hip dysplasia is not diagnosed until two (2) years of age.
Thank you for reading all of this page.
If you purchase a puppy form me . . . . . . You must read all the way down - then - email me telling me that you have read the "Health and Sales Contract " and that you understand and agree to it.
IF you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask !!
Health contract
All puppies must be seen by a licensed vet within 3 days from the day you receive the puppy. This will insure that you are receiving a healthy puppy. Please make vet arrangements before picking up your puppy. They must be kept current on all shots and worming. If there is a problem with your puppy, you need to provide it with good medical care. If the problem is genetic, you must provide me with veterinary documentation and copies of all testing and lab work that has been done. Documentation must show that it is genetic and will be or is serious enough to alter the quality of the dogs life. Any diagnosis must be within the first 2.2 years from the date the pup was born. Diagnosis of Hip Dysplasia must be made by the OFA and must be grade 4 or worse and must prove that it is genetic. Regardless of any genetic defect, it must also be agreed by my vet. All treatments must also be acceptable by my vet. If this happens, we will replace the defective dog with a new puppy (when available) after the original is returned to us. The buyer is responsible for all costs during this process. If the buyer chooses to keep the said dog, no replacement or refund will be given.
All puppies must be spay/neutered by 6 months of age. I must receive proof that the puppy has been spay/neutered by 7 months or the health guarantee of this contract is void.
You are being given a limited registration. This means you do not have breeding rights. You are purchasing this malamute as a pet or companion, not a breeder. It is your responsibility to have your malamute spayed/neutered. Should you breed your malamute, you agree to pay $5000.00 in damages as well as attorney fees and court costs to Snow Pack Mals for breeding when no breeding rights were given. There are no accidents !
You, as the buyer, agree to love and care for your malamute. You agree that this malamute will never be confined in inhumane conditions. This including being tie up, chained up or kenneled for long periods. You agree to and understand the importance of feeding this malamute quality food and provide it with veterinary care yearly and as needed and keep this malamute up to date on shots. You agree not to abuse or neglect this malamute in any way.
You also understand that your puppy is vulnerable to illnesses and diseases when you receive your puppy. Even though he/she has receive the first set of shots, they are not fully protected until a few weeks after they have received their last set of puppy shots. It is also important not to overwhelm your puppy the first few days. Stress can cause intestinal problems including coccidia. All puppies are born with worms. Your puppy will have received at least one worming. This does not clean out all worms and eggs so it is very important that they continue to be wormed.
If for any reason you can not keep your malamute, you agree to let us know. If possible, we will take the malamute back or help you find a good home. We do not want any malamutes to be taken to shelters.
By signing this, you agree to all the above.
We reserve the right to refuse sales to anyone
We care very deeply about our malamutes and puppies. If this contract seems harsh to you, you are welcome to check out other breeders.
